This page aims to collect all VIAF clusters which conflate entities, in order to have them corrected in the future.

Please do not report clusters which need only to be merged: it is enough to add all the clusters which need to be merged in the corresponding item, then the VIAF will check them and eventually merge them (see this example).

Ramsay, Alexander (1822-1809) http://viaf.org/viaf/17133017/ is conflated with another Alexander Ramsay in VIAF records. The former is our Alexander Ramsay (Q19036641), he's the subject of a DNB article, he was a newspaper editor and cattle breeding expert. Goldsmith and His Literary Friends (OCLC work id 2289027307) and History of the Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (OCLC work ids 3863620644 and 377055576) are by him. The latter is our Alexander Ramsay (Q72560088), a scientific editor and writer, born 1839 and died 1916. He doesn't yet have a LOC authority record but is in their old catalog as "Alexander Ramsay, F.G.S."
