The aim of the WikiProject Numismatics is:

  • to define a set of properties that can be used to describe coins and banknotes in Wikidata:
  • to map and import all relevant data that currently is spread in Commons, Wikipedia, and Wikisource.
  • to establish methods to interact with this data from external projects, e.g., projects describing coin and banknote collections.

Getting started Edit

If you can't spend much time describing a new coin type, it may be a good idea to start with described by source (P1343) associated with a coin catalog (Q52666561), with appropiate qualifiers, including object named as (P1932) so that other people can model the structured data, and subject named as (P1810).
