Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Attribution

We changed the way we handle attribution (Q230768) of paintings. The only correct way to do it now is creator (P170) -> <the creator item> qualified with nature of statement (P5102) -> attribution (Q230768). You can find the full documentation on how to handle uncertain attribution at the item structure page of the Visual arts project.

Common wrong ways of doing it:

In all cases it should be changed to creator (P170) -> <the creator item> qualified with nature of statement (P5102) -> attribution (Q230768)

Unfortunately a lot of paintings got updated with creator (P170) -> anonymous (Q4233718) without any qualifiers based on the "attributed to" in the description. For the easy cases:

  1. Remove the creator (P170) -> anonymous (Q4233718)
  2. Undo the (semi-)automated edits that added "painting by anonymous" in a lot of languages
  3. Add creator (P170) -> <the creator item> qualified with nature of statement (P5102) -> attribution (Q230768)

The last step is a lot of work so you can just leave that for later to be able to fix a lot of items quickly.
