Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Made from material
For paintings we use made from material (made from material (P186)) to indicate what materials were used to make the painting. Most paintings will have some sort of paint (Q174219) and a painting support (Q861259) (which is qualified with applies to part (P518) set to painting support (Q861259)) to which the paint is applied. Of course more complicated cases exists especially for more recent paintings.
Common paint edit

- panel (Q106857709): painting support made of a thin wooden plank
- oak panel (Q106857823): painting support made of a thin oak wood plank
- poplar panel (Q106857865): painting support made of a thin poplar wood plank
- fir panel (Q107103505): painting surface made of a thin fir wood plank
- lime panel (Q107103548): painting surface made of a thin lime wood plank
- walnut panel (Q107103575): painting surface made of a thin walnut wood plank
- cardboard (Q18668582): painting surface made of heavy-duty paper of various strengths
(needs to be expanded a bit)
For secondary surfaces like oak panel (Q106857823) in "oil on canvas on oak panel" the qualifier mount (Q107105674) should be used.
