Wikidata:Wikiproject Smithsonian Libraries and Archives/NASM ALM

Introduction

This project proposes to utilize ALM (Aeropspace Legacy Materials) shelf list index card records into Wikidata from the NASM Library. The legacy indexing data contains report title, author, description, and the crisscross report numbering that have also been an integral component of the aerospace industry indexing methodology. The Wikidata project looks to support discovery of ALM materials and understand how the collection can be linked to related resources within and outside the Smithsonian.

Data Source

Monographs list

A sample list of 175 monograph titles to use for the ALM project.

Confirming SLA holdings in OCLC (139 found in OCLC; 72 matched in SIRIS (including 60 bibs are DLC copy))
Obtaining link to SLA catalog description (for instance, Mike Garbett's Buffalo Airport 1926/1976)
Reconciling author in Wikidata (via SLA's OpenRefine)
Adding Wikiproject Smithsonian Libraries and Archives/NASM ALM (Q115914965) to new and existing Wikidata items
