Expand to cover year items? edit

There are discussions going on at Wikidata:Project chat in the Will "applies to part" work well with conversion factors? and Year and Calender Year sections. The gist of it is there are many shades of meaning for "year" so it would be nice to choose a standardized approach for adding properties to years such as AD 1066 or 45 BC.

This WikiProject seems the closest match to this issue. In addition to the contributions of the present members, it could be an opportunity to recruit new members to the project and a place to retain the results of the discussions.

I intend to invite those who have contributed to the discussion already to this project. I won't advertise it any further than that unless a consensus forms that this project wants to tackle it. Jc3s5h (talk) 20:54, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Items for calender dates edit

Hello,

I plan to create a list in a spreadsheet for quick statements version 2 to create Items for calender dates and adding the properties. What do you think about doing it in that way, or how would you add it to Wikidata. When you want to get the list please write me an E-Mail and then I can send it to you. It were great if someone could check it before I add it to Wikidata.

+@Jura1: I tried it and it created a Item but not added the description and the properties and value. I added the following thing to quick statements. CREATE LAST Lde 1. Januar 2019 Dde Dienstag im Januar 2019 P31 Q47150325 P2894 Q127 P585 +2019-01-01T00:00:00Z/11 Do you know were there is the mistake. -- Hogü-456 (talk) 20:19, 14 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Hogü-456: Personally, I use a format like the following:

CREATE
LAST	Lde	"1. Januar 2019"
LAST	Dde	"Dienstag im Januar 2019"
LAST	P31	Q47150325
LAST	P2894	Q127
LAST	P585	+2019-01-01T00:00:00Z/11

Apparently, it's also possible now to replace newlines by "||", but I haven't tried that before. I suppose it would be:

CREATE||LAST	Lde	"1. Januar 2019"||LAST	Dde	"Dienstag im Januar 2019"||LAST	P31	Q47150325||LAST	P2894	Q127||LAST	P585	+2019-01-01T00:00:00Z/11

It also allow to replace TAB with "|". There seems to be a third format with commas, see Help:QuickStatements. To complete Q57315998, you can skip CREATE and replace LAST with Q57315998. --- Jura 20:35, 14 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
