NSZL edit

Hey, Thank you for your contribution on Jenő Hunyady (Q6180075), but please note the difference between NSZL (VIAF) ID (P951) and NSZL name authority ID (P3133). – Máté (talk) 08:47, 2 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Máté: OK, thanks. I will take into account for new edits.--Ferran Mir (talk) 20:02, 2 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Nikolai Luzin edit

Hi @Infovarius:: I'm sorry, but I think that to be "professor" or "privatdozent" is not a "position held (P39)"; it is only a "job", an "occupation" (P106). It's for this reason I have delete these "positions".--Ferran Mir (talk) 09:25, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment edit

Dear Ferran Mir,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits. Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study will start in late January 2022 or early February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes.

If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSees9WzFXR0Vl3mHLkZCaByeFHRrBy51kBca53euq9nt3XWog/viewform?usp=sf_link I will contact you with the link to start the study.

For more information about the study, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards

Université de Bordeaux: 1896-1971 vs créée en 2014 edit

Hi Ferran Mir, you've merged the University of Bordeaux from 1896 to 1971 with the one created in 2014. That is not helpful. @Emu: Can you take a look? --Kolja21 (talk) 05:51, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have undone the merge. Although it’s a complicated situation and the sitelinks are somewhat unhelpful, it’s a different concept. --Emu (talk) 10:18, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Kolja21:, @Emu:: I'm not fully aware about the history of the Université de Bordeaux, bu I think there exist a continuity between institutions. This problem of continuity is not always solved in the same way in WD. For exemple we ha ve the cases of Berlin University (we have three objects: Humboldt (Q152087). Friedrich Wilhelm (Q20266330) and Berlin (Q20266894) to refer to the same university) and Sant Petersburg University (we have only one object to refer to an university whose name has changed in the past: Petrogard University, State University of Leningrad, ). Feel free to solve this case as you consider better. The only bad consequence may be that in other objects, in property P108 (employer) it may appear some warning about chronology.--Ferran Mir (talk) 10:43, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ferran Mir, in Wikidata one should differentiate as precisely as possible. In Wikipedia, of course, it is different. Same problem: Buildings and organisations that use them. In Wikipedia they are described in one article. Wikidata distinguishes between the building and the institution. Not always, of course, but that is the goal. --Kolja21 (talk) 17:42, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
