Redefining Q1299641 item edit

Hello, you redefined Q1299641 meaning. Please fix labels, descriptions, properties and links to the item. Or revert the changes. — Ivan A. Krestinin (talk) 12:16, 25 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Ivan, yes I resolved the ambiguities and updated the labels already, this item really represents the whole Soyuz family until Soyuz-2 came along. There is now a separate item Soyuz (Q23902660) for the original Soyuz rocket which flew from 1966 to 1975. Later Soyuz variants are now subclasses of Soyuz (Q1299641) (Soyuz-L, -M, -U, -U2, -FG). Incoming links look good to me; they could be made more precise by pointing each of them to the exact Soyuz variant that launched each mission, but I'm not sure if that is the right approach (compare with other rocket families and variants). Several language wikis pointed to an incorrect item, depending on their interpretation of "Soyuz rocket": some have one page for the whole family, others have several pages but there were some wikidata mismatches; I checked them all and assigned the pages accordingly. Hope this clarifies. Let me know if I missed something. — JFG talk 08:06, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Incidentally, I saw your page User:Ivan_A._Krestinin/Launches in the incoming links, great job there; do you want me to help you update it? — JFG talk 08:06, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
