Motivation

The catalogus professorum lipsiensis (Professorenkatalog der Universität Leipzig), developed and maintained by the University of Leipzig sicne 2006, is a comprehensive list with a lot of valuable information on university teachers employed by the university in the past. Ranging from the foundation of the university in the 15th century to present times, its main focus is the period between the reform of the university in 1831 and the abolition of the old "Ordienarienuniversität" around 1952.
