WikiProject Boeken

Het doel van het WikiProject Boeken is:

  • een set eigenschappen te definiëren die kunnen worden gebruikt bij boek infoboxen, Wikipedia citaatsjablonen en Wikisource.
  • om alle relevante data van Commons, Wikipedia en Wikisource te verzamelen en te importeren.
  • om methoden te ontwikkelen die deze data van verschillende projecten kan gebruiken.

Bibliografische eigenschappen

We gebruikten de Functionele vereisten voor het bibliografische records (FRBR) model (een veelgebruikt en beroemd conceptueel kader in de bibliotheekwetenschap) om de boekeigenschappen in 2 sets te verdelen. Het FRBR-model onderstreept het feit dat men een boek op 4 verschillende manieren of niveaus kunt bekijken: als een werk, als een expressie, een manifestatie en als een item.

Binnen Wikimedia-projecten hebben we ze niet alle 4 nodig: wanneer Wikipedia bijvoorbeeld een artikel over een boek heeft, is het vaak in de "werk" -weergave (d.w.z. de Bijbel, Pinokkio, Hamlet worden beschouwd als "creatieve werken", die zijn belichaamd in verschillende vertalingen en edities en verschillende media).

Op Wikisource is soms een specifieke editie gebruikt als bron. Omdat we ook verschillende Wikisources hebben, hebben we daarom voor de wereldwijde lezers ook verschillende vertalingen.

Omdat het deze verschillen vervaagt, moet het item boek (book (Q571)) worden vermeden - zie de overlegpagina van het item.

Om het niet te ingewikkeld te maken, hebben we de FRBR-termen "expressie" of "manifestatie" niet gebruikt, omdat de grens tussen de definities niet gemakkelijk te begrijpen is. Dus we hebben die twee FRBR-lagen samengevouwen in één: "editie" (in tegenstelling tot het bibliografische gegevensmodel van BIBFRAME combineert het in plaats daarvan de FRBR-lagen "werk" en "expressie" in één "werk" -entiteit). Zo is een tweelaags framework, bestaande uit werk en editie gebruikt voor het maken van boekeigenschappen in Wikidata.


Werk item eigenschappen

Deze eigenschappen zijn voor het eerste item dat een boek vertegenwoordigt (FRBR werkniveau). Ze zijn vooral bedoeld om te worden gebruikt voor items die gelinkt zijn aan Wikipedia-pagina's.

Werken moeten instanties zijn van written work (Q47461344) of een van de subklassen.

Editie item eigenschappen

Deze eigenschappen zijn voor het item dat de editie van een boek vertegenwoordigt (FRBR expressie/manifestatieniveau). Ze zijn voornamelijk bedoeld voor edities van boeken die als bron worden gebruikt, en moeten dus worden gebruikt voor items die zijn gekoppeld aan Wikisource-edities.

Merk op dat elke editie van een boek een apart Wikidata-item moet hebben. Als de inhoud (voorwoord, nawoord, illustratie), paginering (paginanummer), uitgever of publicatieplaats verandert, moet er een nieuw item voor die editie worden gemaakt. Als een boek een identieke herdruk is van een vorige editie (geen verandering in de genoemde eigenschappen), heeft het geen nieuw item nodig.

Edities moeten instanties zijn van version, edition or translation (Q3331189) of een van de subklassen.

Voorbeeldeigenschappen

Manuscript eigenschappen

Manuscripten zijn losse exemplaren van literaire werken, dus een manuscript is niet hetzelfde als een literair werk. Alle manuscript-items moeten instance of (P31) met een van manuscript (Q87167), illuminated manuscript (Q48498), codex (Q213924), miscellaneous manuscript (Q2217259), palimpsest (Q274076), manuscript fragment (Q30103158) hebben. Geef het schrijfmateriaal op voor made from material (P186): papyrus (Q125576), paper (Q11472), leather (Q286), parchment (Q226697), shard (Q1463658), vellum (Q378274). De persoon die het manuscript uitschrijft wordt aangeduid met calligrapher (P6819): dit is vaak anders dan de auteur van het literaire werk author (P50). Als een andere persoon de illustraties heeft gemaakt, zijn dit de illustrator (P110). Het tijdstip waarop het manuscript is voltooid is inception (P571).
