Question and resource edit

First, I tried to put the actual cuneiform sign : 𒂼 (U+120BC, GA2×AN).

Then the language code is "mis-x-Q36790" but shouldn't it be "sux" (which is the ISO 639-3 code for Sumerian as indicated on Sumerian (Q36790)).

Tricky question: how could we says that 𒂼 contains a 𒀭? (derived from lexeme (P5191) is a bit of a stretch here)

Finally, not sure where to put it, so here is a resource for this lexemes : entry « ama MOTHER » in the The Pennsylvania Sumerian Dictionary.

There's no support for that language code in MediaWiki yet, which is why it has to be represented as mis-x-Q36790/mis-x-Q401.

For cuneiform and other composed scripts (like Hangul), I agree that we'll want a new set of properties to illustrate those, rather than over-load ones related to etymology.

Note that, some years later, this is indeed now shown as sux-xsux (and the Latin transliteration as sux-latn). James F. (talk) 16:50, 9 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
