Commissioner Schomberg served as First-Lieutenant under the veteran Cornwallis, in the memorable battle between Rodney and De Grasse, as also in the Pegasus 28, under the command of his late Majesty William IV., upon whom, when Midshipman with Lord Hood in the Barfleur. he had been an attendant. He commanded the Culloden 74, in Lord Howe’s action 1 June, 1704, and died at Chelsea 20 Jan. 1813. (English)
