Correct identification of this object

edit

The correct identification of some NGC objects is difficult due to errors and misunderstandings of the original observer and of the astronomers that, during time, made and re-analysed the data.

Use the information of different sources, NGC 2631 has different identifications. Following the prescription of NGC/IC project NGC 2631 is unknown, and it should not be identified as UGC 4547 (see also this discussion).

Source Identification Link Notes
NGC/IC project in VizieR (Q1662358) unknown [1] right identification
NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (Q488563) other [2] right identification (there is no data)
Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database (Q6709611) no object [3] right identification
SIMBAD (Q654724) UGC 4547 [4] wrong identification!

Please do not use SIMBAD (Q654724) database to recover the data of this object!
