Correct name of this galaxy
editSome Wikipedias use for this galaxy the names "NGC 7415-2" or "NGC 7415/2" to distinguish this object from another galaxy located East of it. But the principal astronomical databases don't use this kind of designation for this object, but some other to distinguish it from the other galaxy:
- SIMBAD (Q654724) uses the name "NGC 7415W" (see here);
- NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (Q488563) uses the name "NGC 7415 NED01" (see here);
- Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database (Q6709611) doesn't use any NGC designation (see here).
In addition, none of the catalogues listed by VizieR (Q1662358) uses names likes "NGC 7415-2" (see here) or "NGC 7415/2" (see here), but some recognize "NGC7415W" (see here).
