Label/aliases edit

Maybe it should be Neuen because one of the sources cited is "Staatsgalerie im Neuen Schloss Schleissheim" and Google confirms many hits. WorldCat http://worldcat.org/identities/lccn-n87848045/ (LoC) also give such alt names, eg "Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen Staatsgalerie Im Neuen Schloss Schleißheim"
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlossanlage_Schleißheim itself gives it as Neue Schloss and Neues Schloss.
So maybe we should accept all 3 or 4 forms :-) --Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 10:33, 7 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Vladimir Alexiev:
  • "Neuer Schloss" is a non-existent phrase in German grammar, frankly: wrong
  • "Neues Schloss" is (here) nominative with strong inflection of "neu": correct and should be used as label
  • "Neuen Schloss" can be genitive or dative with weak inflection as in "Staatsgalerie im Neuen Schloss Schleissheim": existent, but should not be used as label
  • "Neue is nominative or accusative with weak inflection, cannot stand alone, needs e.g. an article, "das Neue Schloss": should not be used as label
See w:German adjectives for all this, luckily it uses "neu" as example. There you find even "Neuem (Schloss)", dative with strong inflection, like all other forms besides "Neues Schloss" it should not be used as a label (nor as an alias IMHO). --Marsupium (talk) 21:32, 11 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate (redundant) data items? edit

It seems both Q17121915 and Q98650489 refer to the Neues Schloss (the New Castle) as a building and cultural heritage monument (not to the art gallery, a branch of Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen, which uses some of its rooms).

If so, I believe the two data items could/should be merged.

Or is there some reasoning behind the creation of two separate data items (the point of which I'm missing somehow)? -- Martinus KE (talk) 10:53, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
