contradictions
editThere is a big mistake here : in many languages (notably French and Spanish), the literal translation of « contemporary history » is what English language names « modern history » (and there is not really a coined expression equivalent to « contemporary history »). Also, in the same languages « modern history » refers roughly to the period following Middle Age (starting around XVe / XVIe centuries, depending on the criteria).
