I know for sure that right now I have access to Wikidata infrastructure even though I'm using a virtual private network (Q170963) even though I've used it since before registering. I even may take some "pride" in this. It proves you can have some levels of privacy and also contribute to a Wikimedia project and I like that.

Now someone may ask me why I'm using an always on VPN? It's for an ideological (L293192) reason (L1257). Namely privacy (Q188728). I can list many reasons why I think privacy is important but I guess that's not what a user page is for.

Due to using a VPN though I am not going to ask for any extra privileges. I am not going to ask to get IP block exempt, unless your reasons are much better than mine why I should ask for it. This account should never be allowed to vote on anything, just provide opinions I think is reasonable to expect. I'm not going to, for now, recommend anyone else, to use a VPN because I don't have any idea if that violates a hundred of policies or something since the no open proxies is a pretty strong thing on I think all Wikimedia Projects(correct me if I'm wrong). I guess I'll just be happy to connect with at least 1 other VPN user who have found joy in editing Wikidata, is using a VPN and is not overly pushy "trying to make everyone else use one too". Maybe just the opportunity to discuss this with another user and perhaps go deeper in discussion ie. if there could be a better way to fight spam than block IPs, but that is probably such a large project that two people wouldn't be enough to even begin to solve that problem but there is always hope. Anyway I guess if I would continue on this I should rather contribute on Wikiversity on some topic regarding privacy and proxies or something, if I'm motivated...but alone I guess not. I already love adding Steam Deck verified titles even if I add them kinda slowly and inefficiently.

if a Steam application ID (P1733) gets delisted on Steam, what to do on Wikidata?

Problem: When you visit the Steam App ID of a game/app and it just shows the general Steam page this is the kind of editing you need to apply. This is called "delisting":

ie. Grand Theft Auto WD item, delisting in reason for deprecation and direct link to db site directly related to delisting: Grand Theft Auto (Q94501)

I think it's a bad idea I create new items as several have been deleted. This Wikidata database contains so many items that even if I worked on all of them I think it would take several years to work on them, so I don't think I will ever run out of items to work on, that is the reason why I find it unnecessary for me to create new items(might change if I get clearer on the current consensus or if we ever get a consensus on what stays and what gets thrown out).

I used to be reluctant to touch games which are listed as mods on steam. I guess I've gotten over that. Some examples in the "mod" category:

What keeps me going

Apart from the recent thing with a big game company that "abandoned" a game on Steam that was Steam Deck "playable", that made me keep going adding more verified titles to Wikidata.
Before that it was also because there were more titles connected to Nintendo Switch than Steam Deck. A lot more, thousands of titles. I now have two locally saved queries to check how many games that are verified that have been added related to Steam Deck and how many game items have platform Nintendo Switch.

At this point I'll just compare how many titles have been added and roughly when. Work in progress so it might not look that good.

User:Matthias M.. Found no statement about publication date, found almost nothing. Many items with only a "skeleton frame", like P31 = video game and some identifier and that's it. I wish I was that minimalist myself, would probably do my job much faster.
