Scholia will be able to show all the decisions at once if everything is published in the one publication item, but at the moment it can only show one year at a time like this: https://scholia.toolforge.org/venue/Q97501702
Scholia for Swedish Supreme Court decisions
Thank you, that is an excellent point that I hadn't thought of. It may be worth ditching the individual volumes.
described by SAOB - can that help in a practical sense for editors?
I noticed this edit of yours where you add P1343 by SAOB. Can going to the identifier for a certain word(talking generally about all words described on SAOB) help an editor add any data to Lexemes? I'm not talking about a problem but I'm trying to have a discussion about if SAOB is of any use to me in my edits or if I should just ignore it?('copyrighted resources = not resources' is my kind of thinking) ~~~~
Hey! Thank you for the question. Most of SAOB is actually rather old (first volume published 1898) and therefore I understand the printed volumes are not protected, though the website may be protected by database rights. I basically only use it to connect existing lexemes and lexemes I have created based on my own understanding of the language. I sometimes also use it as a reference for etymology, but that’s about it.
For a user, the identifier and ability to click through to the source can definitely have value as this is the most comprehensive dictionary of the Swedish language.
Hey! All well, thank you. Not sure you’re asking the right person here. I don’t think I have ever edited that item and I don’t have any rights that allow me to protect pages. Cheers!
I see. Well, I don't know how to edit here very well, haha. Is there any page/place in which I can make that request, like a "Protection page" or something like that? Thanks for your time.
I’ve never had to ask for that myself, but I think this is the place to bring it up: Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard
Page references in cites work on Riksdagsdokument
Hi. I just spotted Special:Diff/1258113111 and reacted to the page(s) (P304) qualifier of cites work (P2860). The reason I reacted was that when I looked at the document it only has 94 pages, yet several of the references are for page numbers higher than this.
Hey. My thought behind this is that the page number refers to the cited page in the cited document. This is inferred from the literal text in the citing document, e.g. Prop. 2017/18:49 s. 116. I realize when you point this out that one could read this as the page in the citing document where the citation is found, but that was not my intention.
This would actually affect pretty much every document I have added citations for so it would be important to get it right. Do you know if there is any documentation on this use case? I couldn't find any on the property talk pages.
Hi. I hadn't thought about the page number being used that way. Thinking about it now however I feel sure your interpretation is the correct one since it qualifies the citation. The page on which the citation occurs would be part of the reference. Sorry for the scare :)
Hi! First of all, thank you for having imported https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/#/catalog/3811 related to Uppsala University Alvin ID (P6821). However, I've just noticed there are some duplicate entries, such as https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/#/entry/97591203 (with correct id "alvin-person:17846") and https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/#/entry/97524653 (with incomplete id "17846"). There are at least 240 cases of incomplete ids. Could you re-import the catalog on Mix'n'match excluding all the incomplete ids? When you do it, I can delete the old catalog. Thank you very much in advance!
Hey! Sure, I can give it a look. Unfortunate mishap but I might take the chance to try and improve the descriptions also. I’ve noticed some include additional biographical notes that are rather helpful when trying to find the right match.
Ok, perfect. When you succeed in importing a new catalog, please inform me here, so that I can delete the old catalog. Thanks!
So, update. I have:
- removed incorrect values of Uppsala University Alvin ID (P6821)
- created new https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/#/catalog/3919
- deleted old https://mix-n-match.toolforge.org/#/catalog/3811
Feel free to create a new catalog with better descriptions, of course, and let me know when you do it!
Thank you! And sorry for the delay on my end.
