Lowercase

edit

Hello, I'm E4024. In case you didn't know, descriptions begin with a lowercase letter except when uppercase would normally be required or expected. Essentially, you should pretend that the description is appearing in the middle of a normal sentence, and then follow normal language rules. Most terms would not be capitalized if they appeared in the middle of a sentence. However terms such as proper nouns (e.g. the names of specific people, specific places, and specific titles) should be capitalized. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!  E4024

@E4024: Thanks for letting me know. Though, you didn't partially reverted the aforementioned issue, you reverted all of the relevant edits i made for no apparent reason, while at the same time found time to add a reference. Would you care to explain? I am referring to Siege of Tripolitsa (Q2590023). I changed the description per what the respective article presents. I would appreciate if you did the same for the Turkish description; there was a siege and a massacre of Muslims (which included Turks). Demetrios1993 (talk) 17:36, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I used a source which says "Turks". Best. --E4024 (talk) 17:40, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@E4024: And i used a source which says Muslims. The Muslims of Tripolitsa weren't exclusively Turks, read the respective Wikipedia article please, and refrain from reverting any further without a proper explanation. Demetrios1993 (talk) 17:50, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
EN:WP?! Sure? Is that where the Greek nationalists make their own version of history? Read a better Greek source: The massacre that followed on the next three days (Friday through Sunday) resulted in the death of between 6,000 and 15,000 Turks and Jews who lived in Tripolitsa. --E4024 (talk) 17:58, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@E4024: The term Turk, has been commonly used by non-Muslim Balkan people to denote all Muslim settlers in the region, regardless of their ethno-linguistic background. Even the article you shared, uses the word Muslim and Turk interchangeably. For example, "The total number of Muslims killed during the sacking was estimated by Thomas Gordon, who arrived in the city shortly after its fall, at 8,000." And please leave nationalism out of our discussion. I had no problem with the word "massacre", nor do i deny it, but i do have a problem with the word Turk, because Tripolitsas' Muslims belonged to more than one ethnicity, and during the siege even Muslim Albanians are mentioned. The massacre even included Jews. As for the Muslims of Peloponnese in general, Evliya Çelebi describes them as entirely Greek-speaking, namely Greek Muslims; an exaggeration in my opinion, but still goes on to show what i mean. You even disregard the article i added, written by an Ottomanologist, who also happens to be from Peloponnese. Demetrios1993 (talk) 18:37, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks for the lecture. I know a bit more than that. Thanks to your edit conflict I lost all I had written before. Better. I do not need to convince you to anything. The last source I added says "Turks and Jews" and also explains shortly how the Albanians deceived the Turks (they left the place); something I have read in more detail in history books. I have no problem to make the victims "Turks and Jews". (We do not consider them out of us, we did not give one of our citizens to Nazis, FYI.) EN:WP may feel free to propagate Greek nationalism, nobody considers it a reliable source, anyway. Good-bye. --E4024 (talk) 18:56, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • BTW I have no problem with the term Turks either. In the end I wrote Turks. --E4024 (talk) 19:03, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Yeah, only problem is that this term is used by non-Muslim Balkan people, not throughout the English-speaking world. You seem to have a real issue with EN:WP by keep repeating the same fallacies. Might this have something to do with the fact you were indefinitely blocked there? I guess the French and Spanish Wikipedias are also full of propaganda, since you are indefinitely blocked there as well. Demetrios1993 (talk) 19:17, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you discovered the best method. Congratulations! --E4024 (talk) 19:22, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
