Admin inactivityEdit

Hello! Unfortunately, your administrator flag was removed for not making the required 5 actions in the last 6 months. Thanks for your work! --Rschen7754 02:55, 1 March 2018 (UTC)

Rschen7754 Hi, thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately I've been pretty busy IRL for a while, but hopefully once that calms I'll be able to help out more.  Hazard SJ  07:43, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Other rightsEdit

Hello Hazard, hope you are doing well. Why your bot not archive other sections in Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Other rights? --Alaa :)..! 12:29, 13 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi Alaa, thanks for reaching out about this! When my bot initially started archiving that page, the section for IP block exemptions was extremely low-traffic (there were only about 2 requests in 2013), so I opted to not archive it back then. Since that section seems to have been archived a few times now, and there is a convention about how that is being handled, I've updated the bot's source code so that it now archives that section.  Hazard SJ  03:04, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
Thanks a lot   --Alaa :)..! 11:47, 15 May 2018 (UTC)

Archive index not showingEdit

Hi Hazard, could you please take a look to Wikidata talk:Lexicographical data/Archive? There should be an archive index, but there is nothing. What else should I add for the archive index to show up? --Micru (talk) 07:40, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Fixed by creating yearly archive. It's not the bot's problem - problem was with the template that does not detect two /s. Please note that the category there is circular category and that needs to be fixed. — regards, Revi 10:05, 29 May 2018 (UTC)

Bot deletes deletion requestsEdit

[1] ... what's wrong here? Taylor 49 (talk) 00:53, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

Taylor 49, hello! Templates such as {{Done}}, {{Deleted}}, or in this case, {{Not done}}, are resolution templates. The bot interprets the presence of some of those templates in sections of WD:RFD to mean that a request has been resolved. Because you used {{Not done}}, those requests were interpreted as resolved, and hence archived by the bot. If, in the future, that is not your intent, don't use a resolution template (e.g. you can say "Not done" without using the template).  Hazard SJ  01:23, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. It was not me who placed {{Done}}, it was another bot (strategy "do exactly nothing and report succes"). Taylor 49 (talk) 10:23, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
Taylor 49, I see what you mean - yes, DeltaBot marked them as {{Done}}, which would have Hazard-Bot see them as resolved. Afterwards, you added {{Not done}} in this diff (which is also another valid way to mark the request as resoled - they don't counteract each other). In order to prevent the each of those sections from being archived, you would have needed to not have either template used in the section (e.g. change the existing {{Done}} to {{Tl|done}} and not add {{Not done}}). I hope this helps for the future, and I'm sorry that you got confused by the process.  Hazard SJ  19:37, 26 August 2018 (UTC)

Talk page archivingEdit

Hi Hazard-SJ, Somehow it seems the bot doesn't work any more for user talk pages over the last couple of weeks. Did you change anything? --- Jura 08:49, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi Jura, thanks for bringing this to my attention. There were a number of changes, and I believe this issue in particular has to do with my updating the archivebot script (and the surrounding pywikibot framework). It seems that there's an error with translating the edit summary that's causing edits to fail (and hence nothing being archived). I'm a bit short on time right now to debug exactly what's happening and why, so for now I've just gone ahead and restarted the version I had been running before the breakage until I'm able to dig into it more. Thanks again!  Hazard SJ  20:53, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
