Addition of death details to the wrong item

Hi there, your bot added incorrect death details to Carlo Bonomi referenced from rkd.nl data, but it is clearly the wrong person. Please ensure that you use date of birth, occupation or something to ensure you only add details to the correct item. How can you check you haven't made other similar mistakes? The-Pope (talk) 15:28, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

@The-Pope: someone (user:LongLiveRock) made the wrong match in Mix'n'match. The chance of this being found without the bot adding additional (wrong) information would have been extremely small. It's better to have it go completely wrong, so it gets noticed and the original mistake can be fixed. So no, I can't ensure it will be the correct item and no I can't check if the bot did similar things. This is not a bug, this is a feature. In case you run into something like this in the future:
  1. search for the person in mix'n'match and remove or replace the wrong matches (replace with Carlo Bonomi (Q27825154) in this case))
  2. Remove the incorrect link and other incorrect data
  3. Maybe inform the user who made the incorrect match of the mistake (this case the user doesn't appear to be active anymore)
Happy editing. Also @Pichpich: see above. That will work much better than to just undo the edit.
If this is a bit too complicated or too much work, at least try to add the link to the right item. This way it will show up on User:Magnus Manske/Mix'n'match report/13. Multichill (talk) 15:55, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Mosaics report like Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Possible paintings

Hey! I would like to do some work to populate our coverage of Mosaics -- and have noticed that both on Commons and on other Wikis there are a number of mosaics described in categories, but we haven't added the correct class to them. Could you run a report similar to Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Possible paintings for Category:Mosaic (Q7468592)? Sadads (talk) 14:03, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing the Category:Mosaic (Q7468592) edit -- must have accidently hit something to cause that. Sadads (talk) 14:09, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
You can fork https://github.com/multichill/toollabs/blob/master/bot/wikidata/find_wikipedia_paintings.py if you like. Multichill (talk) 14:19, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
I wouldn't know how to run that -- I have never operated a bot or python script, and wouldn't know where to start. I am happy to help write/populate a series of regex or petscan queries-- which this seems to be taking advantage of -- or I could try to learn the script bits, but would need some guidance on how to get started. Sadads (talk) 14:24, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
Is there any chance you could run a copy of this for me? I am reading documentation about running Python bots, but it's a bit beyond my skill -- and it seems silly to request another bot operator to run it.Sadads (talk) 03:48, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
@Sadads: It should also be possible to replicate that functionality with a SPARQL query that could then be ingested by a {{Wikidata list}}. --Marsupium (talk) 07:51, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
Maybe? I am betting it will time out. It's based on categories in each language. Asking WikidataFacts, since the documentation for categories in the query service is also not making a lot of sense for me, and there aren't any easy to find example -- pinging the petscan queries, seems to make more sense to me because you can introduce things like pages without Q#s (as this list bot does). I wonder if it would make sense for Template:Wikidata list + Listeria bot, or similar support producing Petscan lists as well? @Magnus Manske: might be of interest, Sadads (talk) 14:36, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
I also posted to the Query request page, Sadads (talk) 18:29, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

WikiProject sum of all paintings

Guten Tag,

– The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lulu 008 (talk • contribs) at 16:32, 11 May 2018 (UTC).

Hallo Lulu 008,
Beste Grüße, --Marsupium (talk) 08:05, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
