I am never very good at working out the evaluation order of the syntax to put the cheap filters first. Also as bots are prevalent here whether to put in a statement that says if a bot, just skip it. Your thoughts appreciated.

Hmm. I see that batch testing can show positives, though live edits do not show the same results in the main ns. What am I missing? Is there a means to resolution?

Looks like you're trying to target logged out users with this filter. In that case, user_age == 0 is probably faster than user_editcount == null, though it's likely by a trivial amount.

Any function or variable listed as slow at mw:Extension:AbuseFilter/Rules format should ideally go last. So here I would put the page_recent_contributors condition last.

I'm not sure about the changes to batch testing, sorry.

Thanks. So it seems that WD implements their "editing" differently as it applies to AF. Do you know where that is documented or where one would find that out? I will drop some comments into the filter.

MusikAnimal (talkcontribs)

Hmm no, I wasn't aware Wikidata was different with respect to AbuseFilter! I would hope that's documented somewhere... user_age should definitely work, if that's the issue you're having.

Hi there - thanks for the feedback on my update to Q7911239 - I was attempting to find a better term for "British crossdresser" since Barker is widely considered a transgender man (and fascist, though that's not necessarily what he's best known for) and "crossdresser" doesn't quite get at the complexities of his gender identity and life. "Transgender man" also doesn't quite cover it, as Barker wouldn't have had access to that language during his life, so I did my best. I know it's difficult to get a succinct description - just want to make sure Victor Barker's information is as accurate as possible.
