Your edits in Tokyo edit

Hi, I saw that you tried to clean up the items about Tokyo. However, there are issues about your changes in the sitelinks. en:Tokyo is about the prefecture of Tokyo, not just the special words. This is the same thing for many other languages, possibly because they copied the English article. I agree that this is confusing, but it is the way it is currently is, and we cannot do things differently in Wikidata, if they do not change the articles in Wikipedia. --Zolo (talk) 13:45, 7 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Tokyo has the ability of both the prefecture and city. Tokyo has become such treatment would the Japanese Wikipedia.
Japanese Wikipedia ja:東京 is not written only for the special words. This page is written for the entire contents, including the prefecture of Tokyo. If the article as "Tokyo" and "Tokyo Metropolis" is not divided in each language version, it is reasonable to link to ja:東京. --shikai shaw (talk) 01:15, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I have seen that the Japanese article is about Tokyo in general, but unluckily, in many other languages, the "Tokyo" article is explicitly about the prefecture of Tokyo. For instance, they only use data about the prefecture of Tokyo in the infobox. Soon infobox data will be taken from Wikidata, and it would be a bit odd to use the data from another item. I agree that things should probably be changed in Wikipedia articles rather than in Wikidata, but I doubt it will easily be done. --Zolo (talk) 15:12, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
I do not think there is much need to separate the article of Tokyo and the prefecture of Tokyo in many languages. Originally, the capital of Japan rather than those prescribed by law, the range is unclear. Therefore, I was aligned with the "Tokyo" what has become an article named Tokyo. But, when I think that in other languages, it may be we should align the "Tokyo Metropolis". Should I be like that? --shikai shaw (talk) 02:32, 9 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
If we do not change anything in the Wikipedia articles, we should do the links based on the content of the articles. Based on the infoboxes, it indeed looks like most of them should be linked with Tokyo Metropolis. The problem is that it not done very constently, for instance fr:Tokyo is about the same subject as ja:東京 but its infobox only contains data about ja:東京都. I'll try to discuss the issue in Wikipedias. --Zolo (talk) 05:59, 9 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

:::::Indeed, fr:Tokyo is similar to ja:東京. However, the description of the prefecture of Tokyo is the primary still. Besides, there is no page that corresponds to the prefecture of Tokyo. From this, it should be linked to the ja:東京, including the French version.--shikai shaw (talk) 18:58, 11 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Japan Subdivision edit

Currently there is the located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) and contains the administrative territorial entity (P150). In the Japan article, they seem to not reciprocate.

If X P131 Y, then Y P150 X is not always true.

See my example for Japan (Q17)

   Japan (Q17) A <-- an Admin Div?
       Tokyo (Q1490) B <-- an Admin Div
Tokyo District (Q11524638) C <-- Not an Admin Div, a logical grouping only
ward area of Tokyo (Q308891) D <-- Not an Admin Div, a logical grouping only
                   Adachi-ku (Q213464) E <-- an Admin Div
                       Senju (Q11405341) F <-- an Admin Div
                   ...
               Western Tokyo (Q1323122)
                   Hachioji (Q208863)
                   ...
               Tokyo Islands (Q1138596)

1. A contains the administrative territorial entity (P150) B and B located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) A, assuming that A (instance of a country) is an division

2. B contains the administrative territorial entity (P150) C but C located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) B is not true

3. C contains the administrative territorial entity (P150) D but D located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) C is not true

4. D contains the administrative territorial entity (P150) E and E located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) B

5. E contains the administrative territorial entity (P150) F and F located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) E and F located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) B

Should we remove Tokyo District (Q11524638) C in the chain? the new result would be.

   Japan (Q17) A <-- an Admin Div?
       Tokyo (Q1490) B <-- an Admin Div

                   Adachi-ku (Q213464) E <-- an Admin Div
                       Senju (Q11405341) F <-- an Admin Div
                   ...
               Western Tokyo (Q1323122)
                   Hachioji (Q208863)
                   ...
               Tokyo Islands (Q1138596)
There is not a problem. Tokyo District (Q11524638) is local grouping by Japan Meteorological Agency. --shikai shaw (talk) 06:12, 28 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation and given names edit

Hi Shikai shaw, not sure if you have seen my edit summary: there are generally separate items for disambiguation and given names. Please avoid merging them as on Q7385633. --- Jura 08:48, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry. I have divided the page of the English version. --shikai shaw (talk) 09:27, 29 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
