Confusing edit edit

Why did you do this? —Justin (koavf)TCM 03:11, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Koavf: I was merging histories from 2 source locations on enwiki and apparently it decided to make an automated edit on wikidata that I was unaware of. I'm glad that it was corrected and apologize for that. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 03:14, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Good deal. This is a serious problem. Are you interested in raising this at Project Chat or Phab? —Justin (koavf)TCM 03:18, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Koavf: I think that that is something that makes sense in a way in that I did do a manual histmerge (aka deleting one, moving other. then restoring that destination), but am not so sure how keen I am on it automatically deleting without using twinkle. I am just not sure if this would come back as "working as intended" or not...in any event, I will be more careful when doing such in the future to make sure I'm not removing entries here by accidental automatic edit. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 04:05, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
I don't understand how that answers my question. —Justin (koavf)TCM 04:09, 16 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Koavf: What I mean is that I fear it is working as intended and that raising it would be pointless. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 05:42, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
Gotcha. Thanks. —Justin (koavf)TCM 05:46, 6 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
