Merging items edit

Hallo and welcome.

For merging items, you can try the following tool: Merge.js gadget. It makes it much easier to do, and easier for the admins to check and follow up your nominations. -Cycn (talk) 09:41, 24 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate award received (P166) using Help:Infobox export gadget edit

You have imported lots of award received (P166) from Russian Wikipedia (Q206855) using Help:Infobox export gadget. I notice that this creates a lot of duplicates. I'm compiling awards of Finnish presidents (see sv:Användare:Finnusertop/sandlåda and sv:Användare:Finnusertop/sandlåda2). Now take a look at something like Mauno Koivisto (Q29021). The full list of this persons awards is easily sourceable and I had already added them all with sources. After your edits some 20 of these are now duplicated with less specificity. For example, Grand Cross with Collar of the Order of the Falcon (Q22583240) with date and a reliable source is now duplicated by Order of the Falcon (Q1394282) sourced only to Russian Wikipedia. I can go through these to manually check if I've missed something. After all, sometimes Russian Wikipedia knows about an award I did not know about and I might be able to find a reliable source for it. But I just wanted to know: Is there a way to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future? Yours, Finnusertop (talk) 14:08, 25 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
