CIA’s

edit

Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) assigned to its 1600+ undergraduate students in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil & Sanskrit. This initiative bridges inequality and brings in a greater contribution from various languages. This initiative included in the academic curriculum not only makes one learn from it but also provides various perspectives making it possible for one to voice out one’s opinion to the world by using the powerful tool of Wikipedia. The CUWEP follows a structure to deal with a large number of students which is not an easy-going task at any time. It comes into action by the active support from the community through the CIS-A2K members who assign the these and give them to the faculty. The faculty intern gives assignments and details to the campus ambassadors who finally spread the word to the students. All of the bodies are of constant help to each other and are approachable at any time. The curriculum is divided into odd and even semester which consists of two CIA’s for the first and second-year students pursuing an undergraduate degree. They are as follows:

Semester CIA-1 CIA-3
Semester-1 Wikidata level 1 Wikidata level 1 continues, Only those students who perform really well enter Wikidata level 2.
The students who do not qualify for level-2 continues with level-1.
Semester-2 Wikidata level-2 continues. Students who do not show progress continues with Wikidata level-1 under supervision.
Students who perform really well in either or both level-1 and 2, either go to Wikisource level-1(simple page proofreading)
Wikidata level 1 and level 2 continue for the students depending on their performance.
Wikidata level-3 only for the best contributors.
Wikisource level-2/Wikimedia Commons level-2 for who perform well in level-1 of these projects.
Semester-3 Wikidata level 1, 2, 3 continue according to merit,
Wikisource level 1 and 2 continue similarly based on contribution assessment.
Wikipedia level-1 introduced (no edit, only policy discussion)

Internships

edit

CIS-A2K will be offering internships to the students of Christ (Deemed to be University) with the guidance of the facilitators at CUWEP with the help of the community members. It provides help to students who want to contribute to the Wikimedia movement. This internship aims to bring in the spirit of collaboration and builds a larger dedicated team as a workforce to keep Wikidata activity live throughout the year.

Internships will be provided in two different batches at the minimum during every academic year. This will help the students to enhance the editing skills in Wikidata and Wikisource. In return, these skills sets will be used for the orientations of their classmates or solving the minor doubts of the other students.

The details of the work need to be done during the time of internship by students will be decided based on the community needs.
