Wikidata:Events/Wikidata Zurich Datathon

@Data Providers

Would you like to publish your data as open data?

If you didn't consider it yet, you should because:

  1. it boosts transparency
  2. it enables other people to reinterpret your data
  3. it facilitates the development of new applications

You may want to learn about Wikidata, a "free, multilingual, collaborative knowledge base that anyone can edit" Read more about it here.

Join us in the Wikidata Zurich Datathon and learn how to:

  • import your data into Wikidata
  • link your data to Wikidata
  • prepare your own data set with Wikidata's technological infrastructure

Bring your data with you (in CSV, SQL dumps, Excel Sheets or alike) and we will help you publish your data in a Wikidata-friendly way.

@Wikidata enthusiasts

If you are an experienced Wikidata user (who edits or codes with/for Wikidata), or if you recently became interested in Wikidata, we would love to welcome you. We will organize teams around available data sets provided by data providers, and we all will work on data preparation.

You will join a team, and help identify relevant properties and Wikidata items, link data, transform data, and import data with e.g. QuickStatements.
