Family names and disambiguation pages

  • In fiwiki, lists of people with the same family name are frequently included in disambiguation pages.
  • In enwiki, these are sometimes on a separate surname article.

Sample: Q7865595 and Q28146213 for "Elomaa".

It seems that some users of fiwiki want interwikis to the English Wikipedia article, even if they aren't disambiguation pages.

There are two ways to do this:

  1. One adds a local (old-style) interwiki to the fiwiki disambiguation page. This would have to be repeated for each page.
  2. One adapts the template Template:Interwikis from P1889 (family names) (Q56475678) and adds it to fi:Template:Täsmennyssivu. This way all disambiguation pages would get such interwiki links.

Note: This is just an outline of possible uses of Wikidata items and statements. Obviously, it's a question for fiwiki editors if they want to apply it. --- Jura 08:33, 9 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A RFC has been proposed on changes to various administrator and user conduct policies including edit warring, page protection, involved administrators, and interface administrators. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:25, 23 September 2018 (UTC) (for Rschen7754)[reply]
