- Motivation
Part of effort on enwiki to implement Wikidata in en:template:infobox video game. This is the one field that corresponds to credits in the template that does not appear to have a suitable property to pull values from. "Infobox video game" on other languages appear to have had the same issue, as can be seen at cs:Šablona:Infobox_-_videohra, where they left artist without a property.
Please see previous discussion at Wikidata:Property proposal/Artist, where it was recommended to try a more discrete property for this purpose than simply "artist". -- ferret (talk) 17:27, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Oppose per my view in the previous discussion. Use creator (P170), with a suitable subject has role (P2868) qualifier. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 17:40, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- Support per my view in the previous discussion. If third parties (or Wikipedias) are going to actually use the data stored here, then equivalent objects need to be treated in the same way, otherwise it's impossible to create generalised functions to retrieve the data. Why should the creator (P170) of a video game, the cover art by (P736) (who does the graphics on the box), and the en:game artist (who does the graphics in the game) require three different functions to retrieve their values? --RexxS (talk) 18:40, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

- Support per my own previous comments. I've also marked as ready so that a property creator can assess for consensus. --Izno (talk) 11:41, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
