Motivation edit

A linked data service with identifiers for Oregonian people and organizations, topics studied at Oregon universities, and terminology used for archival collections. Contains many authors not found in national authority files. opaquenamespace.org serves up data in JSON-LD and n-triples, potentially making it useful for linked data uses. The project is discussed in the articles From Silos to Opaquenamespace: Oregon Digital’s Migration to Linked Open Data in Hydra (Q108060200) and Enhancing Opaquenamespace.org: Refinement of Local Name Authority Files and Workflows (Q108060231) Sandbergja (talk) 14:49, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion edit

  •   Support This seems fine. However, I wonder about the label, is it expected to cover more than just Oregon topics, or will it be limited in scope? ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:19, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • It's already got items outside the scope of just Oregon (common names of species, art-related terms, worldwide river basins). Their about page says "The name [opaquenamespace] was meant to reflect no institutional affiliation in the hope that it might become a resource for others who needed to publish linked open data". So, the label probably shouldn't mention anything Oregon-specific -- the Oregon content is just what I personally find the most useful at this time.
