Wikidata:Requests for comment/Schema.org identifier?
I've noticed that some Wikidata entities correspond to schema.org entities. For example,
- http://schema.org/PoliceStation corresponds to Q861951 "police station",
- http://schema.org/PostalAddress corresponds to Q319608 "address",
- http://schema.org/MedicalSpecialty corresponds to Q930752 "medical specialty"
- http://schema.org/TouristAttraction corresponds to Q570116 "tourist attraction"
and so on. See also earlier discussion on meta here.
Would it be a good idea to have a "schema.org identifier" property we can add to Wikidata to make these mappings explicit? -- The Anome (talk) 20:24, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
- yes. I don't think this needs an RFC. You should just create a 'Property proposal'. Filceolaire (talk) 11:37, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
- There already exists exact match (P2888), which has been created exactly for the purpose of matching to other schemas, namespaces, ontologies on the semantic web. equivalent class (P1709) might also be relevant in this context. Sebotic (talk) 18:10, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
- ah, that's an ancient discussion... Sebotic (talk) 18:11, 9 May 2017 (UTC)
