Please note that I undid your revision [1]. The countries in this task force should not be linked to their entries, but to the subpages with more details on the administrative divisions. Hi there, I noticed that you changed the Wimbledon Championships from being a subclass of tournament/recurring event, to being an instance of tournament/recurring event. Please be aware of that this item represents the _series_ of tournaments, and that there are annual instances of it. Ie. items with instance-of:Q41520. See what links to it. So, are you sure it is correct to change this 'series' event from a subclass to an instance? Thanks in advance for your answer! Fred Johansen (talk) 18:38, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for contacting me! Sorry for changing this without contacting anyone, but I don't know where I should start a conversation about this. I don't think that Wimbledon is a class or subclass of anything. Classes are ideas, templates, and real life things and events are instances of those classes. You are right, Wimbledon Championships probably can't be called a tennis tournament, but then it is a series of tennis tournaments. I see that Grand Slam is also tagged as a subclass of tennis tournament. If you think about it a little bit, Grand Slam isn't a competition of tennis players. Grand Slam is a collection of series of tennis tournaments. 1978 Wimbledon Championships is an instance of a tennis tournament. I think the best solution is to mark 1978 Wimbledon Championships as a part of Wimbledon Championships, and Wimbledon Championships as a part of Grand Slam. Maybe there's a better property.
