Format Constraint and recurring Potential Issues warnings edit

I'm not an expert on properties, but I'm noticing a lot of "potential issues" warnings on items with DeSmog IDs. They appear to be somehow in violation of the format constraint on this property, although they still link correctly to the relevant DeSmog page. Perhaps the format constraint should be broadened to eliminate these recurring errors? Or is this a database error of some kind? I think strictly speaking the id is meant to be all in lowercase though the site itself doesn't seem to care, I have added "has quality" "lowercase" which hopefully should make it clearer to capturing tools that what they pass back to wikidata should be turned lowercase Back ache (talk) 12:07, 11 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have noticed that the DeSmog site itself seems to represent some of its entry IDs using upper-case characters. And YES, I agree with the editor above that this warning about a constraint violation really causes confusion among editors not accustomed to the fact that many constraints in this whole database (WikiData) have errors in them. So I have broadened the constraint to include upper-case characters. If someone can provide a reference that shows that this ID should really be all lower-case (preferably from the DeSmog site itself) AND that the DeSmog site itself stops showing IDs as having upper-case characters, then please indeed change the format constraint back to all lower-case characters. But regardless of what the constraint is (or ends up as), there needs to be agreement between the DeSmog site and the constraint that WikiData uses so as to avoid these ridiculous false-positive constraint violations.
