Borders defined by latitude (or longitude) edit

For Utah (Q829), any point on 42nd parallel north (Q1317511) should qualify (see w:42nd_parallel_north#United_States), accordingly, I picked one and added that at Q829#P1332.

The same applies to S/E/W-most points of some other states.

If modern measurements show that this is inaccurate, please add these as well. --- Jura 13:32, 27 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

42° parallel is not 100% accurate as there is some oddities on part of the borders of certain US states. They, in contrary to public opinion, do not necessarily follow a perfectly drawn geometric path. https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?whereami=1&query=42.00150%2C-112.17318#map=18/42.00150/-112.17318 Bouzinac💬✒️💛 15:39, 27 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Isn't this set in some agreements (which can be added as reference), but, even if it should, it ends up diverging once someone tries to set boundary stones (another reference)? --- Jura 07:15, 28 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Specifically for Utah, the northern border seems to have been established when Utah Territory (Q128026) was created which defines it as "south of Oregon Territory (Q1420228)". The later seems to have its southern border from the Adams–Onís Treaty (Q351722). Maybe there are provisions that detail this further. --- Jura 10:57, 8 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
