Joao4669, instance of an ambassador would be the person who holds given office. This item is for a class, a type of ambassador. Hence these "instance of" statements are wrong ("subclass of" relation applies instead). Currently there are many items where this needs to be corrected. - I'm not taking a stance on what the exact schema should be, but it can't be as arbitrary as that. Currently this class is set as both an instance of and a subclass of ambassador (Q121998) which is definitely an error. ambassador (Q121998) also is in subclass tree of person (Q215627), and this position is not an individual person (its instance). As far as I can see, what Metamorforme42 once suggested (see talk) is based on a mere misconception that P279 should be used only if given item in turn is used as P31 value. For reference, in previous discussions several users have rejected these ambassador classes as P31 values (User talk:Metamorforme42/Ambassadors, User talk:Aestrum#ambassador of Hungary to Belarus), and over years several other users have tried to fix these obvious errors (diff1, diff2, diff3).
