Bonjour
J'ai récemment vu que deux codes WALS pouvaient exister (sur Q12952430), mais qu'il y un message d'avertissement pour dire que « Cette propriété contient généralement une seule valeur. »
J'ai alors envoyé un email à WALS pour en savoir plus :
« Hello
I am a contributor to Wikipedia in French, working essentially on language articles.
I am writing an article about Western Niger Fulfulde (Glottocode: west2454 ISO 639-3: fuh ) and I found that WALS has two codes for it (fbf, fli).
I would like to know why it is possible to have multiple WALS codes for one ISO 639-3 code / glottocode, and why sometimes the WALS code doesn't correspond to the ISO 639-3 code if it exists. I couldn't find any information about this over the web...
Acutally, Wikidata shows a warning when two WALS codes are affected to a single language. It would be nice to correct this if multiple codes are possible.

Réponse :
« 1. WALS sometimes has separate entries for dialects of the same language (e.g. German), in which case each entry will have a separate WALS code for each entry, even though they share the same ISO code.
2. The WALS codes are not supposed to be the same as the ISO codes. They were originally created for the hard copy of the atlas, published by Oxford University Press. We wanted WALS codes that were maximally similar to the language names and the ISO codes often fell short of this.
