About me

I am an academic researcher, and have been a regular contributor to Wikimedia projects since March 2019. I am an enthusiastic traveller and randomly photograph nature: sky, water and else. I established Deoband Community Wikimedia in 2021 to help document knowledge related to global Muslim academia on Wikimedia projects (see my role account TheAafi (DCW)). I also have a mobile account: AafiOnMobile.

My work

I am a sysop on Wikimedia Commons and on the Urdu Wikipedia, and volunteer as a translation administrator across several projects including Wikidata. I am a global renamer and a member of the Volunteer Response Team. I feel happy when asked to help, and consider myself a learner. I am comfortable with English, Hindi, Kashmiri and Urdu languages. I have not edited any WIkimedia projects ever for any sort of financial gains but I still have some conflict of interest.
