Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

  • Introduction – An introduction to the project.
  • Wikidata tours – Interactive tutorials to show you how Wikidata works.
  • Community portal – The portal for community members.
  • User options – including the 'Babel' extension, to set your language preferences.
  • Contents – The main help page for editing and using the site.
  • Project chat – Discussions about the project.
  • Tools – A collection of user-developed tools to allow for easier completion of some tasks.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

Best regards! --Bill william compton (talk) 02:35, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

merge with redirect edit

Hi, Սահակ. Thanks for your contributions. For your information, Wikidata can create redirect page now. When you merge items, please change the merged one to a redirect page (as I did to Q16393163) so that the merged item is not blanked and will not be deleted. The option of creating redirect page can be found at Merge.js for merge. Best regards. --Neo-Jay (talk) 04:00, 29 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Deleting source edit

Please, don't delete sources from claims. Unless you 100% sure that source is not about claim. Only in case you are 100% sure. -- Vlsergey (talk) 08:18, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Translation request edit

Hello.

Can you create en:Visa policy of Azerbaijan, en:Visa requirements for Azerbaijani citizens and en:Azerbaijani passport in Armenian Wikipedia?

Since all ethnic Armenians and even non-Armenian spouses carrying Armenian surnames are strictly banned from entering Azerbaijan, this is significant.

Yours sincerely, Maphobbyist (talk) 05:52, 10 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

deletion of valid content from Wikidata edit

Hi Սահակ, please don't delete valid content from Wikidata and undo any deletions you have done. If information is no longer current, please set appropriate rank. --- Jura 14:33, 17 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jura, while I don't understand the purpose of keeping suspended social media accounts in wikidata, I reverted my changes. -Սահակ (talk) 18:57, 17 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. If you are not interested in historic information, you can just ignore it. --- Jura 09:28, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Gutenberg editions edit

Digital editions of books, like those at Gutenberg, should be created as their own data items. See The Bride of Lammermoor by Walter Scott (Q119716630) as an example. There is an ID (Project Gutenberg ebook ID (P2034)) for Gutenberg texts --EncycloPetey (talk) 06:52, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Novels go through many editions, with differences. When a "full work" is available, please determine which edition that digital edition is based on, and either add the URL to the data item for that specific edition, or if it is a new digital edition, create a data item for that edition and add the link there. --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:31, 8 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
