Removing LUMIERE IDs

edit

Hey, if you just remove the less useful IDs they are going to be added back again (I am already preparing a batch that will likely do just that). You should use ranking to handle these situations. – Máté (talk) 06:04, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Máté,
I'm working on the LUMIERE Database at the European Audiovisual Observatory.
Actually, all the Lumiere IDs that I have removed from the Wikidata film pages are deprecated. They should all be either non existent (404) on the public interface, or will soon be deleted as they were duplicates that were merged in the back-office (I will soon synchronize the back-office version with the front/public version).
Thank you for letting me know when you intend to run those batches.
BTW, thank you very much for all the work you have done to enrich Wikidata with external IDs (including the ones from our Lumiere Database). Adren-fr (talk) 09:19, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
...or do you mean that because it was once true and published in our database, I should still mark it as deprecated?
(I can assure you that there is no way those old IDs will reappear in our database) Adren-fr (talk) 09:30, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I see, thank you for the explanation. I've used the API to get a local table with LUMIERE / IMDb ID pairings. Updating it every time I want to check for new uploads would take a lot of time, therefore I plan to keep using the local copy, and only add the new IDs incrementally. Therefore it'd be easier if we'd depreciate IDs using withdrawn identifier value (Q21441764) as reason for deprecated rank (P2241). Since the IDs did exist, it does make sense to keep them. Alternatively, you could tell me which IDs are getting revoked, and I will update my local copy (this seems to be more work). – Máté (talk) 09:36, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
No problem, actually this is what I just did with Ambushed
As for future updates, I can provide you the whole internal list of IDs (Lumiere, IMDB, EIDR...) in any form you might need if that helps running new batches. Adren-fr (talk) 09:50, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
That would actually be great, as I am planning to add CNC and EIDR IDs to items based on LUMIERE as my next project. I was planning to use the API to get the IDs. However, if you could share the IDs without me having to do all those API calls, all parties concerned would probably be better off. :) – Máté (talk) 09:57, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's fine with me. Just tell me how you want to have all the information (CSV file?) and which fields/IDs. Adren-fr (talk) 10:09, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
CSV would be great. Apart from the LUMIERE ID, we have properties for IMDb, EIDR, ISAN, and CNC. So those could be used both to help match further Wikidata items to LUMIERE IDs, and to enrich Wikidata with LUMIERE as a source. – Máté (talk) 17:40, 29 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello Maté, it took us some time but given the huge number of corrections we have made to the database, I'm now ready to send you the export of external IDs (Lumiere, Wikidata, IMDb, EIDR, ISAN, CNC) as promised. Please let me know how I can send the CSV/TSV to you. Adren~frwiki (talk) 13:47, 13 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'll drop you an email :) Máté (talk) 03:33, 14 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
