Works vs editions

Hi Billinghurst, can you please undo this edit? A work (= book) can't be used with number of pages (P1104), see Wikidata:Books task force. Cheers --Kolja21 (talk) 07:06, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Done. I love when people make things harder rather than easier. I love when they don't look to see how a more effective inline process can be configured, and instead say "you cannot do that". This community again and again needs to get away from technocrats, and look to extension and function. Thanks for reminding me again, why I don't like editing here, despite all the good.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:53, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for helping. I know, that the distinction between works and editions looks like a bureaucratic harassment, but the Books task force is doing a good job and helps to improve the quality of WD. --Kolja21 (talk) 21:31, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
You missed my point. As a Wikisourcer, I know that there can be a difference between a book and edition, FWIW for many works there isn't actually a difference. My comment was broader than your narrow interpretation, there is a difference between being right and being helpful.  — billinghurst sDrewth 09:53, 5 April 2014 (UTC)
