Mixing country and language edit
Hi Byrial, absolutely great preparation work, very few incorrect occurrences... I did not follow the logic behind the scheme identifying merge candidate, so I am not sure whether or not you can improve it to avoid cases where the language got mixed up with the country name, as in those:
- Pattern found 38 times (with country Espagne, Europe, Italie, Iran, Allemagne ...):
- Q7781 (fr:Histoire de l'Espagne, 57 links, 2 uses), Q471410 (en:History of Spanish, 7 links), 6 links to same languages
- Q122131 (fr:Histoire de l'Allemagne, 59 links, 1 use), Q470606 (en:History of German, 8 links), 7 links to same languages
- Q151128 (fr:Histoire de l'Islande, 31 links, 1 use), Q3974141 (en:History of Icelandic, 3 links), 3 links to same languages
- I do not think I can do anything about such cases. If we want the right suggestions, we will have to live with some wrong suggestions too. Byrial (talk) 10:41, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
Exclude disambiguation pages edit
Such cases should be excluded: e.g. Henriette de France (Q3132491) is a disambiguation item with a single link to a disambiguation page; this causes naturally a link to same language conflict with the matching item:
- Pattern found 1 time (with country Belgique):
- Q3132491 (fr:Henriette de France, 1 link), Q565401 (en:Princess Henriette of France, 15 links, 2 uses), 1 link to same language
