Merging Carl Walther

edit

Hi Danyelflorea. Welcome to Wikidata. I saw that you tried to merge Carl Walther (Q2057675) and Carl Walther GmbH (Q705706). We actually do have a lot of items that need to be merged because they are two separate items about the same topic (see Help:Merge for this, especially there is a gadget that does merging easier than manual link-moving), and it's always great if someone has an open eye to look for them. However, Carl Walther isn't such a case, as one item is about the person, and one about the company. Items about different topics should not be merged, and in many cases (including this one) they even can't be merged technically, as there are some Wikipedias that two separate articles. Your incomplete attempt to merge lost a lot of sitelinks. Thanks for considering this next time. --YMS (talk) 15:20, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
