Aliases

edit

Regarding this edit: names of pharmaceutical products are not valid aliases for item about active substance. Such names should be included in items about pharmaceutical products (like Aerius (Q29004393)) only and added to the active substance item via active ingredient in (P3780). I added list of the drugs into field "Also known as" because this field are used for list of the trade marks of drug in the template "w:ru:Шаблон:Лекарственное средство" of Russian Wikipedia. -- Grumbler eburg (talk) 12:28, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
It is not relevant what is used on any project. In Wikidata such aliases are not valid, so this infobox is made incorrectly. In Wikidata pharmaceutical products in items about chemical substances are added as statements using active ingredient in (P3780) property and this is the correct way to import such data to Wikipedia. Aliases in items about chemical substances are used only for other names of these substances, not about mixtures with other substances (like pharmaceutical products which are mixtures of active substance or substances and other ingredients). In some items names of pharmaceutical products are still present in items about active substances (and this is a result of edits like yours, but mostly of automatic imports from various databases), but over time these items will be cleared of all such aliases – so it would be good to fix said infobox in ru.wiki. OK, next I will describe this collision on the Talk page of infobox template. -- Grumbler eburg (talk) 18:31, 5 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
