Tacna (Q272795) edit

--Cuatro Remos (talk) 17:24, 5 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked temporarily for abuse of editing privileges. Once this block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest it by editing this page and adding the following template with a suitable reason: {{unblock|1=<the reason for your unblock request>}}. If you are logged in, and the option has not been disabled, you may also email the blocking administrator (or any administrator from this list) by using this form. See Wikidata:Guide to appealing blocks for more information.

I only reverted Historiadormundo three times, and so I did not "edit war" in the greatest sense of the word. In fact, he reverted me five times. Not only that, they kept on adding poor translations of a "promotional" label (in the sense, it promotes the guy, not that it is promotional as in selling stuff), and adding as relatives people who may be or not relatives to Cruz Vargas. I told him so in the kindest words possible, but he finally responded with a "leave me alone". I did not intend to edit war, rather, to educate him. I have been told, as you can see above, not to interact with him but it is just so incredible to me that, only because it is me, they won't listen to me, even though I have tried to be as kind and helpful as I could. No matter what, if this unblock is not lifted, I have given at least an explanation regarding my actions. Also, I want to context the reversal Andreasmperu did on the Jorge Basadre item, because he was born in Tacna under Chilean administration, and per ius solis, he is a Chilean. I don't know and it is not clear in sources if he ever renounced his Chilean citizenship, that's why I added as the "year of end" 1928. Removing that, because it is a fact, in incorrect. I can understand Tacna is now in Peru and that it might hurt some nationalism, but facts are facts. --Cuatro Remos (talk) 01:38, 27 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

--Cuatro Remos (talk) 17:49, 6 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Jorge Basadre edit

Hi, in Wikidata it's used the same rules as in English Wikipedia, as it's shown here, so according to this source you can't use a primary source to interpretate it without a reliable secondary source for that interpretation, that means what are you doing is original research. Please don't do the same thing that you were doing in Spanish Wikipedia as it's shown here. --2x2leax (talk) 04:23, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Policy: Unless restricted by another policy, primary sources that have been reputably published may be used in Wikipedia, but only with care, because it is easy to misuse them.[d] Any interpretation of primary source material requires a reliable secondary source for that interpretation." Did you forget about that sentence which claims all people born in the Chilean department of Tacna are Chilean per ius solis? That said, the interpretation should be accepted. I know rules are not the same on the Spanish Wikipedia and that I could not and would not carry on adding the Chilean citizenship without a third-party claiming specifically Basadre was a Chilean, but that is a Spanish Wikipedia thing, not Wikidata's. --Cuatro Remos (talk) 04:27, 26 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and that means that you can't use your interpretation without a reliable secondary source that shows the same thing that the Chilean departament say. If you use the Chilean departament as source (which is a primary source) you must have a secondary source that says the same thing that the Chilean departament because you can't interpretate a primary source, as I showed you earlier. It doesn't matter what the Chilean departament said because using a primary source makes Wikidata a primary source, which it's against the rules as I showed you in the first message. --2x2leax (talk) 19:08, 29 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
I do not agree with your interpretation of local policies. That is why I requested, some days ago, the intervention of an administrator who could guide us towards a definite path, with a neutral analysis of the situation. Hopefully, that solution will benefit both of us. Kind regards. --Cuatro Remos (talk) 21:11, 29 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
