Software versionEdit

Hi KlaasZ4usV,

when adding a new release don't please delete the old one (like you did at Katleen Martens (Q3194179)). You can set the rank of the then old version to normal and add the new version with "preferred rank".--Kopiersperre (talk) 21:54, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

Ciao Kopiersperre,
?? I did not touch that lemma nor do I understand what a person has to do with software version. The picture shows 'date of birth'  Klaas `Z4␟` V:  13:22, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi, you just updated the version-number of SQLite (Q319417). In the future please don't override or remove the old version-info but add the new version additionally to the old one, so that we eventually get the full version history. To mark with version is the newest at the moment, change the rank of the newest to "preferred rank". Thanks! -- MichaelSchoenitzer (talk) 11:23, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
Ciao MichaelSchoenitzer|, There are hundreds of releases/versions/updates/patches of applications and/or libraries like SQLite etc. You want to keep them all that ever existed going back to DOS 1.0 up to DOS 6 with Windows it's even worse and what you think of Unixes, Linux-distributions etc. ? It has IMNSHO practically no use to save everything from the past here. Cheers,  Klaas `Z4␟` V:  09:24, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Yes, we do want to keep all versions of applications and libraries back to the first versions. We will use them for list like this and other applications. -- MichaelSchoenitzer (talk) 18:44, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Make my day and go ahead. Copy the page I linked :-D  Klaas `Z4␟` V:  09:25, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

Unexplained edits and accusations of edit waringEdit

Please refrain from doing that going forward. The discussion to which you participated, but failed to explain your reasoning was at WikiProject Names. --- Jura 11:30, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

You started... see your tP, the one of St(.) Leger and now the project as well. Kind regards, Klaas `Z4␟` V:  11:39, 6 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Bovlb. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Q51209886 because it didn't appear constructive. Feel free to use the sandbox for test edits. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!  Bovlb (talk) 21:26, 30 April 2021 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 21:26, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Call for participation in the interview study with Wikidata editorsEdit

Dear Klaas van Buiten,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King’s College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research that develops a personalized recommendation system to suggest Wikidata items for the editors based on their interests and preferences. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I would love to talk with you to know about your current ways to choose the items you work on in Wikidata and understand the factors that might influence such a decision. Your cooperation will give us valuable insights into building a recommender system that can help improve your editing experience.

Participation is completely voluntary. You have the option to withdraw at any time. Your data will be processed under the terms of UK data protection law (including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018). The information and data that you provide will remain confidential; it will only be stored on the password-protected computer of the researchers. We will use the results anonymized to provide insights into the practices of the editors in item selection processes for editing and publish the results of the study to a research venue. If you decide to take part, we will ask you to sign a consent form, and you will be given a copy of this consent form to keep.

If you’re interested in participating and have 15-20 minutes to chat (I promise to keep the time!), please either contact me at kholoudsaa@gmail.com or kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmmFHaiB20nK14wrQJgfrA18PtmdagyeRib3xGtvzkdn3Lgw/viewform?usp=sf_link with your choice of the times that work for you.

I’ll follow up with you to figure out what method is the best way for us to connect.

Please contact me if you have any questions or require more information about this project.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Taşanlar (Q2342353)Edit

Hi. I see that Dutch is your native language. The village of Taşanlar in Turkey (Q2342353) has been subject to an article called Taşhanlar in NL:WP. If you check the internet, you will see that the village's name is Taşanlar. Maybe you would like to correct it there. Dank je wel. --E4024 (talk) 23:53, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. The other issue is, the map "received from Dutch WP" is also wrong; better said, it shows another place in Turkey called "Taşhanlar" and not "Taşanlar". A link to the correct map is under this sentence. I forgot how we formulized Google maps. If I remember I will fix it. :) --E4024 (talk) 14:13, 21 July 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the item Q108762885. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks!  Bovlb (talk) 16:19, 12 October 2021 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 16:19, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

Sorry for doing it wrong. I'll take a look at your tips. Thank you, Bovlb. TTYL,  Klaas `Z4␟` V:  20:32, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
