Babel edit

Babel lets you view and edit more than one language on Wikidata. Just add e.g. {{#babel:de-N|en-3|es-1|fr-2|nl-3|it-4|da-0}} to your user page. With the same language codes you can add links to your userpage on Wikipedia e.g. de:User:User123. --Tobias1984 (talk) 16:46, 6 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Merging edit

Hallo Metsavend,
When you merge items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It helps with merging, gives the option to always keep the lower number (which is older, so preferable in most cases) and removes the need to file a request on Wikidata:Requests for deletions.
With regards,- cycŋ - (talkcontribslogs) 11:29, 19 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I activated it now. --Metsavend (talk) 12:19, 19 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

How to Merge edit

Hello, Metsavend, and thank you for your deletion request.

However, it was an easy merge, and below I will explain a merge.

What is a merge edit

A merge is when you copy all of the information from the first item and send it to the second item, deleting anything that is conflicting, such as exact duplicates. Then, the first item is cleared, and made into a redirect (if doing automatically).

How to merge edit

  1. Use Special:MergeItems. Comes with the Wikidata (Wikibase) software, but will cancel if interwiki conflicts are found
  2. Use MediaWiki:Gadget-Merge.js. This is the preferred method of merging. Enable at your Preferences.
  3. Use the QuickStatements (Q20084080) tool, semi-automatically
  4. Do it manually.

Estonian vallad edit

Hi!

I see you've been updating some stuff after the 2017 reorganization. I've been working on this one, see User:Reosarevok/Estonian_politics/Vallad for a list of all we have and its status. I changed a few of your "follows" by "replaces", which I've been told is more appropriate for this situation. Tartu City (Q42307965) is tricky, because according to the info available on haldusreform.fin.ee (Ühinenud ja kõikide omavalitsuste ülevaade (seisuga 14.07.2017)): "(NB! Olemasolev Tartu linn säilib, Tähtvere liitub)". So this should be the same Tartu linn, just bigger - but it seems to have been assigned a new EHAK code. --Reosarevok (talk) 21:40, 6 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I agree with you. "Replaces" is better. I don't have an answer conserning Tartu. It remains as a settlement unit and should be kept separate from administrative city of Tartu. --Metsavend (talk) 22:06, 6 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Translation request edit

Hello.

Can you create en:Baku TV Tower and en:National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan in Estonian Wikipedia?

Baturin edit

Ole hea, jäta see Baturini surmakuupäev rahule, 16. mai on õige, paljugi mida ajakirjandus ajab. Pseudacorus (talk) 06:01, 18 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

--Metsavend (talk) 07:50, 18 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
