Logo of Wikidata

Welcome to Wikidata, Momor72!

Wikidata is a free knowledge base that you can edit! It can be read and edited by humans and machines alike and you can go to any item page now and add to this ever-growing database!

Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

  • Introduction – An introduction to the project.
  • Wikidata tours – Interactive tutorials to show you how Wikidata works.
  • Community portal – The portal for community members.
  • User options – including the 'Babel' extension, to set your language preferences.
  • Contents – The main help page for editing and using the site.
  • Project chat – Discussions about the project.
  • Tools – A collection of user-developed tools to allow for easier completion of some tasks.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask on Project chat. If you want to try out editing, you can use the sandbox to try. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and become an active editor for Wikidata.

Outreachy edit

Hi. I’m sending this to all applicants of the 'Synchronising Wikidata and Wikipedias using pywikibot’ Outreachy project (phab:T276329). Thanks for all your contributions so far! You can continue sending contributions until the Outreachy deadline. If you haven’t already, please submit your contributions to Outreachy, and you might want to start writing your application if you haven’t already (the deadline is next week!) You can do so here. Also, the project has had a lot of interest, and there is only one place available, so I strongly encourage you to also submit contributions and applications to other Outreachy projects as well to increase your chances of doing an Outreachy internship! (Again, I’m saying this to all applicants.) Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 09:39, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for applying for my project on Outreachy. I’m sorry that you weren’t selected - there were so many good candidates and the final decision was very tough! I hope you’ve learnt a lot during the contribution stage of the project! I also hope that you’ll think about continuing to contribute to Wikipedia and Wikidata, there’s a lot that can be done both manually and using pywikibot! In particular, see Wikipedia:Bot requests here on Wikidata, and also on a lot of different language Wikipedias - some of whom are really in need of bot editors! If you are interested, feel free to ask me for help as you need! Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 12:08, 19 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
