Capitalization edit

Please see Help:Label#Capitalization « Labels begin with a lowercase letter except for when uppercase is normally required or expected. » list of Dolichopus species (Q52536868) is not an exception.

Ah, thank you, I was not aware of this. I was looking at another article with an uppercase L for list that was just created today (list of Hercostomus species (Q60519186) ("List of Hercostomus species" before I fixed it just now), and then looked at the Dolichopus one for comparison. It's obvious now which one was in the wrong. --Monster Iestyn (talk) 13:13, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

No problem, the labels are often filled by bots who can't guess when to put a lowercase, so they almost always put uppercase. I'm trying to correct that but that's a lot of labels to check and correct. Cheers, VIGNERON (talk) 13:33, 9 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Palaeoloxodon recki edit

Why did you create Q120767414 when Q693352 already exists? Why did you not just fix that version? Hemiauchenia (talk) 10:55, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Hemiauchenia See Wikidata:WikiProject Taxonomy. Each combination is supposed to have its own Wikidata item, rather than them being all on the same item. (Honestly I don't like this system very much either, but I can somewhat understand why they're doing this?) Monster Iestyn (talk) 12:03, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
