Hi, thanks, check the article. Could you help me with the following. I want to add some description to an object with no wiki page or which is mentioned on one of the wiki pages. For example "Fake houses on Leinster Gardens, London" (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q119745876). So in this case I can't make direct link to wikipedia, because main wiki article is "Leinster_Gardens" and I want to refer to "Leinster_Gardens#False_houses". How best to handle this? Thanks Sirorezka (talk) 22:53, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
looks like it was already done for you BrokenSegue (talk) 23:07, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi, sorry for bothering. One more question. Does data somehow sync between articles? For example I've created article about "Blore Building" which is the part of the palace (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q119703683). I added a link "part of = Lambeth Palace". So I would expect to see on Lambeth place article (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1130266) that "has parts = Blore Building". But this link wasn't created automatically. Are this types of link sync somehow? Will it be created automatically somewhere in the future? Very much appreciate your help! Sirorezka (talk) 13:35, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Generally speaking inverse properties (as they are called) are not automatically populated. It has been discussed but to date it has not been widely implemented. You can see some discussion at Wikidata:Requests for comment/Do we want automatic inverse statement creation and if so, how should they happen?. It's best practice to manually add them but honestly if you didn't it wouldln't be a big deal. BrokenSegue (talk) 16:09, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Public artworks in London

edit

Hi Sirozeka, thank you very much for Dog and a pot (Q121423167), Modern Marriage (Q120936742), Rabbitwoman and Dogman drinking Coffee (Q120671776) and all your other items on public artworks in London! The coordinate locations are especially helpful. If you create any more, could you please add genre (P136) = public art (Q557141) and located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) = the relevant borough? That will allow them to appear on the lists at en:Wikipedia:WikiProject London/Public art/Wikidata. Adding country (P17) = United Kingdom (Q145) will also mean that they're counted on Wikidata:WikiProject Public art/Reports/Public art per country. Thank you, very interesting information. Will try to follow your guides. However I'm very bad in identifying boroughs. Sirorezka (talk) 15:29, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Merge

edit

Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks!  Madamebiblio (talk) 16:38, 3 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
