Wrong use of property chairperson (P488) edit

Hi,

Gerasimos Konidaris (Q27981985) can't have for president the Parnassos Literary Society (Q12885779), it more likely the other way round. Could you confirm and correct that please?

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 12:41, 1 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

@VIGNERON: Yes you are right I guess. He was the president of Parnassos Literary Society (Q12885779). I don't know if there is a property for that so I put the property chairperson (P488) as I couldn't find anything else. I'm sorry if it was wrong at all! Have a nice day! -- Texniths (talk) 13:18, 1 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Texniths: what you write was « The Parnassos Literary Society is president of Gerasimos Konidaris » which make no sense, something can't be president of someone. I'm guessing you used the right property but on the wrong item, or more precisely in the wrong way, you should put it on the Library. Look at the examples on Property:P488#P1855. I've add the same statement but on Parnassos Literary Society (Q12885779). Feel free to verify, it's ok and if you have any references, could you please add them there? Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 17:06, 1 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
@VIGNERON: Alright! I can understand how the property works now! Thanks! Feel free to remove same wrong uses of it, in any other items I have used it. I will try to check on my own too! -- Texniths (talk) 17:09, 1 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Charles Diehl (Q516758) edit

Hi Texniths, May I ask what is the interest of reverting correct data matching all available sources to reinstate wrong and unsourced data? --Nono314 (talk) 18:12, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Nono314. I just checked the date from all the Wikipedias and most of them agreed on the January date. But if you have the sources for the July date, maybe this is right. I guess his date of birth is a disputed issue?--Texniths (talk) 20:47, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Actually, I couldn't find a single reliable source with the January date. The wikidata statement was sourced as "imported from English Wikipedia", but even there the reference used is actually listing July, so I considered it as unsourced. There's even the birth certificate online, so hardly disputed... --Nono314 (talk) 21:23, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ok Nono314, thanks!Texniths (talk) 09:05, 11 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
